Assistant Manager/Manager, Production Management (Singapore Biennale – 1.5 Year Contract)

Full-time Position

 ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


     

    • Provide guidance for Production Management team
    • Develop and implement all aspects of planning and operations relating to the realisation of exhibitions and other projects, as well as the care of artwork collections
    • Organise and develop a full project life cycle plan for all production management activities, including workflow, budget & costs management, timeline setting, project administration and exhibition set up and maintenance, logistics, design, fabrication and artwork/project installation for local and travelling exhibitions/projects
    • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope and budget
    • Analysing and managing project risks, monitoring progress and taking corrective measures
    • Accountable for tracking the physical presence of artworks for exhibitions
    • Ensure project processes always comply with organisation policies
    • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
    • Responsible for the day to day maintenance of museum displays
    • Manage physical facilities for exhibitions and projects, including gallery spaces, art handling areas and exhibition stores
    • Review and keep up with current trends and best practices that may have an impact on exhibition/project planning, logistics and museum management issues
    • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve optimal resourcing, working relationships and fostering key networks
    • Apply and enforce workplace safety measurements at worksites
    • Seek and identify opportunities for new initiatives/sponsorships


    JOB REQUIREMENTS:

    • A good bachelor’s degree, with 3-5 years’ of experience in the field of visual art
    • Good written and verbal communication skills
    • Excellent interpersonal and project management skills
    • Excellent skills in budgeting, income and expenditure projection as well as preparation and delivery of presentations
    • Team player, attention to detail and ability to handle paperwork efficiently
    • Possess good understanding of artist agreements and other legal documents
    • Able to multi-task, work in a fast-paced environment and under tight deadlines
    • Knowledge in exhibition setup and art handling will be advantageous
